American Flyer No.973 White Painted Operating Gilbert's Grade A Milk Pasteurized Boxcar (1956-1957).
American Flyer No. 973 White Painted Gilbert's Operating Milk Car. Gilbert's operating boxcar was painted white and lettered in black "GILBERT'S GRADE A MILK PASTEURIZED" & "973" bellow a large cow's head in a thick circle. One-piece brake-wheel. Body has a screw hole in one end and a a slot in the other end. Also a special frame to accommodate internal mechanism, ramp is slide only, no rollers, body fastened to frame with four rivets, lighted, sintered iron truck side frames with concave ovals, knuckle couplers. The door on one side had a non-opening door, the other side of the car had two opening doors installed, the doors were installed with rivets on metal door guides, milkman inside wore a white uniform delivers four or five milk cans. The mechanism inside and the light works.
